Ted Dekker at his best. His writing is consuming. This is an easy page-turner, with unexpected twists and turns, characters you learn to love, characters you learn to hate and just altogether a fantastic story of the power struggle between Good and Evil.

I had read "House" by Dekker and Peretti, and had bought "Showdown" about the same time. I had never read Dekker before, but this book was hard to put down. The last 100 pages just don't stop until you finish. It moves so quickly at the end, I was unable to stop until it was done. Looking forward to reading more from him.
Too bloody and gory for me, and too detailed about the bloody parts. I might have been able to read this book if I wasn't going to be reading it during my lunch breaks at work..but still, the story was already confusing, and the gore just really got to me this time around. His books with me, either I like them or I don't. And this one I didn't.
Ted Dekker writes stories much like Dean Koontz. Everything starts out kind of normal, then something wierd happens. This story moves along well and the suspense continues to mount, but the story has a few too many holes for a fully satisfying read.
