I just finished Shutter Island, the book.  I really enjoyed it and was wondering if the movie is as good as book.  Anyone seen it ?

Also wondering if Dennis Lehane other books are as good?

Margaret, it has been my experience that the books are usually better then movie.  Shutter Island is on Pay per Vew right now, so I think i will order it this week.   I like to compare the book versus movie.

I recently saw the movie, loved it.  Leonardo Dicaprio is such a talented actor.  I did not realize there was also a book.  I'll have to look into that.

I saw this movie last night.  I think they did a really good job at keeping the movie close to the book.  The movie was pretty good but it was still just as confusing as the book.  The movie did explain things to me but the ending was still confusing.

I liked the movie very much--I agree that Leonardi Di Caprio is a very good actor. I did not know there was a book until after I saw the movie. I ordered the book and it is now residing somewhere in my TBR pile.

I thought the book was okay and the movie was terrible.

I saw the movie, did not read the book. I guessed the ending of the movie 15 minutes into it. So, I didn't find it very intriguing.

I read the book and thought the ending was strange.  It kind of left me hanging.

I read the book and thought it was very confusing and didn't watch the movie until it came out in Netflix.  The movie was just as confusing.

I read the book before I saw the movie.  I loved the book and I thought the movie was very good, which is surprising since I'm almost always disappointed by a movie after I've read the book.

You also asked if Dennis Lehane's other books were good.  He's one of my favorite authors.  Two other books of his that they made movies of are Mystic River  and Gone Baby Gone.  I thought the books were really great and the movies were pretty good too.  I would like to read more of his Patrick and Angie series but my TBR pile is too big to add anything to it right now.
