I'm a member of BOB and recently had the envelope I sent the books in sent back, saying either recieved damaged or empty. Obviously I didn't send it empty since these have to be weighed and sent from the post office because of the multiple book thing. The package is just empty, but is still taped. WTF?? I purchased delivery confirmation but apparently this doesn't do any good. I have offered to refund credits to the BOB, feeling bad as I took forever to send it in the first place because of holidays. What can cause this though, and can this sort of thing be prevented? Because now I"m out 3 books, the shipping and confirmation, and possibly 3 credits.

that is just strange, there are no other slits in the envelope?  wonder if they came out and the PO taped the envelope back up?

I'd probably go to the post office and ask what the heck happened and how could you maybe track the books.

that is just bizarre

While at the post office, be sure to get a form to report your missing items. If they're found, they might be returned to you or the person you were sending them to. It's worth a try, anyway.

Sorry about losing those books. :(

Yeah, it is bizarre. The tape is sitll on there and I checked for slits in the package but there are none. I'm assuming they must have either been removed (I hate to say stolen but....) or else fell out and was taped back up. Doesn't make much sense to me either way. I don't see how they could trace the books now if they are not in the package, but I am still going to give them a call and see if they have any ideas.

Aaron, correct me if I'm wrong, but if the books never arrived to the receiver, wouldn't they automatically get their credits back, once the maximum days past?

Rose, this is a Box of Books transaction, not a regular one involving credits.

I was stupid and didn't realize until now they must have taped the envelope back and included a lost/stolen item form. I'm supposed to bring it up to the post office with a description of the items, and then will see what happens from there. Never had this happen with other packages I've sent. Guess just another problem in dealing with mail products, sigh.
