Maybe someone here can help. The post office attempted to deliver a package to my daughter (signature required). No one was home so the package was brought back to the post office. My daughter put her father's name on the Form 3849 indicating he was her authorized agent and she signed the form. When my husband tried to pick up the package, the clerk refused him saying he also needed my daughter's identification. Is this true? Last Edited on: 7/16/15 3:03 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Not sure, but it sounds a bit sketch to require someone to have another person's ID. If they needed her identification, they should have requested to see it when she signed the Form 3849 (shouldn't have been necessary thereafter). Consider calling and asking exactly what is required and why...sometimes USPS regs differ from counter clerk information. Last Edited on: 7/19/15 6:35 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |
