I liked that it was about Ukrainians, but the book in general just didn't hold together and feel 'well written'--a mish mosh of back/forth. It felt like the author couldn't just write it from the beginning and go through her life, so had to make an old womans memories format (so overused) with jig-jags and no cohesiveness.
