The Terri Schiavo case as recollected by a retired detective who paints Michael Schiavo as a controlling, abusive psychopath. Not that that's not accurate, but the first few chapters are fairly one-sided. The 'meat' of the book is kind of technical in terms of possible scenarios that Fuhrman recounts in an attempt to explain how Terri ended up in the "persistent vegetative state" that was exploited by so many for their own ends. Overall, it was a good read; interesting, informative and confirmed some of my own suspicions surrounding the case.

The vast majority of the book is focused around Michael Schiavo's alibis and his other various lies. The synopsis of the book says the author explores the facts of their marriage, Terri's condition when she collapsed, and her death are all determined. However, all he really does is go over the facts we've all already heard. The unasked questions are not answered, such as her bloodwork when she went to the hospital, was either Terri or Michael having an affair, did the house have any poisons, and the questions go on and on. While I'm certainly not a detective, I have to wonder how much of one Mark Fuhrman really was, because he certainly isn't an author.
