I have read and reread this book and it will remain a keeper on my bookshelf.
It starts with a bang and doesn't let up.
The plot is truer to life than the rosey tinted "Indian Romance" books on the market, and contains not only violence and rape, but the horrors of the white/indian conflicts which took place in the late 1800's.
It is easy to fall in love with the Cheyenne warrior chief, "A Panther Stalks" and admire his white captive/slave, "Little Wildcat".
Absolutely one of the best I have read, intelligently written and impossible to put down until the last page.
I was so happy to find the sequel, SUMMER STORM, which is just as captivating. So eager to revisit beloved characters, and the years that continue to the last of the 1800's.
Forwarning: not for the faint of heart.
Captured by a party of Cheyenne as she was traveling with her family to join her fiancé in Colorado Territory, beautiful young Tanya Martin refused to let her proud spirit be broken or her voluptuous body be abused. But she had not anticipated the reaction of her heart to A Panther Stalks, the brave who had claimed her as his prize. Tanya soon became her captor's willing slave, overcome, by a passion she could not resist.
My absolute favorite book of all times. Just like the other review, I have read this book so many times that I am on the site to replace it! The adventures keep you holding it tight. It's hard to put down. There is not the petty squables between man and women like most romances, just pure love, and a lot of adventure between the white world and the Indian world. It's a ride worth taking!
Not usually what I like to read. But I loved this book! Read it in one day. Sorry but this one is on my keep shelf. Am now reading the continuation of the story - Summer Storm. If you like a good romance it's a definite must to read!
