Silver Bells by Fern Michaels
A very sappy story...it left that "gooey" feeling in my chest when I finished. A sweet romance...

Dear Santa by Joann Ross
Another cute story. It has a few HOT scenes. Yes, Holly there really is a Santa Claus...good for getting into the Christmas spirit.

Christmas Past by Mary Burton
A good, quick suspense. It is a follow-up to other books by Mary Burton and I am interested to check them out.

A Mulberry Park Christmas by Judy Duarte
(the blurb on the back of the book has the names wrong for this one) The names are actually Jillian Ridgeway and Mac Maguire (his first name was never given).
A cute story, but just so-so to me. A little too sappy, I think.

First of all I want to know why all stories dealing with people hating Christmas has to do with love ones dying around that time. It's overdone. At least three of the stories have this theme. People do die on other holidays and people can hate Christmas just because they hate it.

With that being said, I was disappointed by this collection. The only author I read before was JoAnn Ross and hers was the only story I could finish. The other ones were either two slow, had really lame situations, or had really dumb characters.

"Silver Bells" by Fern Michaels: Movie star Amy Lee thinks she is burnt out and decides to regroup by returning to Pennsylvania where she hasn't been since she was a kid when her parents died around Christmas. This one wasn't bad and the two main characters seemed cool. But I just couldn't buy the forced situation in the story. Basically Hank's sister-in-law freaks out when she picks him up from the airport, leaving her 1-year old twins, SUV, and a huge dog who has bathroom issues with him. Of course the rest of the story is about how he struggles with this ordeal being a bachelor and not knowing anything about kids. I can't imagine a mother abandoning her children as a funny thing. Sorry. The whole farce was too much for me to want to continue reading this story.

"Dear Santa" by JoAnn Ross: This was a sweet little story. There are no real problems, just a story about two people getting together with a little "Miracle on 34th Street" thrown in. My only thing is that the main character is named Holly Berry and every time I read that I can't help but think Halle Barry.

"Christmas Past" by Mary Burton: This seemed like a continuation from another story. Some of it was a little hard to follow. Nicole, the survivor of an abusive husband, is really dumb. She is just annoying because she is so busy making an island around her and her baby. Reading about her got too frustrating.

"A Mulberry Park Christmas" by Judy Duarte: This one had potential in the beginning but it's really slow and doesn't seem to be going anywhere. I actually got about 45% into the story before I quit.

So this isn't a worthwhile series for me. Even JoAnn Ross's story wasn't her best. Skip it.
