I didn't watch the video, but a read an article about it last week.  That is sad and seems wasteful to me.  I guess no one was buying them after the price went up from 44 cents to 45 cents.

It seems it would have been less of a waste to either continue to sell the stamps for 45 cents and honor the 44 cent price on the stamp or just do a deal and sell them for 44 cents and honor that price.

I guess that problem won't arise so much in future since all the commemmoratives are Forever stamps now.

I remember two Pittsburgh Postal Workers were charged with stealing $500,000 in stamps in 1991. Their job was to destroy older stamps when the new stamps were issued. They just took the old ones home and an audit revealed some of the workers had as much as $20,000 worth of stamps at thier home.
