Hello :) I'm looking for a book where the main character is a singer. Any recommendations are great! I don't mind series, or whether it's a male or female singer. I'm just in the mood.

I have:

Instrument of Fate Author: Christie Golden

Crystal Singer Author: Anne Mccaffrey

Dragonsong Author: Anne Mccaffrey

Rhapsody Author: Elizabeth Haydon

Irish Gold (Nuala Anne McGrail) Author: Andrew M. Greeley

Thanks!

(edited for a few more I have)

Archangel, by Sharon Shinn (and the rest of the series, but Archangel is both the first and the best)

Songmaster, by Orson Scott Card

Exile's Song, by Marion Zimmer Bradley (actually she's an ethnomusicologist, but music and singing plays an important role in the story, and this seemed as close to what you were asking for as Dragonsong)

Song of the Beast, by Carol Berg (which also has dragons)

Hope you enjoy!

Good! Glad to hear it. I actually have a whole shelf on GoodReads called "music" to keep track of SF/F books with strong musical elements. . . so I clearly get why you'd get a craving for that sort of thing! ;)

What about the Quarters series by Tanya Huff?  Its mostly a light fluffy fantasy romance.  The first two are: The Quarters Novels: Volume I (Sing the Four Quarters Bk 1 / Fifth Quarter Bk 2) (Paperback)

On the urban fantasy side of things, there's War for the Oaks (Paperback) by Emma Bull.

Louise Marley often has singers or music in her book.  I believe she trained in opera.  She has both SF and fantasy.  But there is always music.
