Nevya is a unique world, where once every five years summer comes. In between summers, the winter is long, cold, and dark. The people of Nevya depend upon the Gifted for warmth and light in order to survive. However, the number of Gifted children grows smaller each year. It's a world rife with political turmoil and the youngest singer ever is right at the heart of everything.

Cantrix Sira travels from the Conservatory, where she has learned to use her gift, to her new home. Soon after arriving, she realizes there's something not quite right. As she struggles to find her place in her new home, she's asked to escort a group of riders to another house. On the way, she's betrayed and left for dead. After getting over her shock, she realizes that her education didn't prepare her for the road ahead. Thus begins her break with the Conservatory.

Now, she lives outside the rules and begins asking questions concerning those children with the Gift and not sent to the Conservatory. Soon, she's teaching Gifted children on her own terms. Sira realizes that something must change within their world as the number of Gifted children declines. She hopes to convince the authorities that her teaching methods outside the Conservatory work equally with their teachings. However, they are not swayed.

Someone must step forward to save Nevya. Will Sira be the one to save their world, even if it costs her everything she holds dear?

THE SINGERS OF NEVYA consists of a trilogy combined into one large volume. Neyva is a fascinating world that pulled me in and captivated my attention. This new world pulses with imagination that made me feel the warmth and the light along with the cold and darkness. Beyond the science fiction aspect of the trilogy, the richness of the characters rings true.

While Sira remains the prominent character, the readers witness events from other perspectives. Plus, the addition of the betrayals, the friendships, the dangers, the hardships, and the romance combine perfectly.
