Helpful Score: 4
I read this book because I've read all the books by the author's brother, Frank McCourt. Unfortunately, Malachy McCourt's storytelling ability doesn't even compare to his brother's. Half the time I felt he was name-dropping and the other just plain out bragging. I didn't finish it because I really didn't see the point. He had a chance I suppose to make it about he overcame alcoholism, but that was lost in all the random stories about his movies and T.V. shows, escapades with celebrities, and neglecting his wife and family. I wouldn't bother with this book... reread Angela's Ashes instead!
An enjoyable read. I hadn't known the relationship of Malachy to the author of Angela's Ashes & 'Tis
A sequel to A MONK SWIMMING. Entertaining read.
I liked this book. It continued the story told in A Monk Swimming. It was well written and very interesting. I like autobiographies and this was better than most.
Life has it's ups and downs. McCourt's were extreme. Interesting.
