This is the second book in the Heroes of Heyday. Bryce McClintock is surprised when he is mentioned in his father's will since they have been estranged for years. He leaves his FBI job after a botched assignment and heads back to Heyday where he discovers that Lara Lynmore, the woman who directly contributed to his on-the-job problem, has also come to town.
