The story line continues, and so does the great writing! Can't wait for the next book. Book 4 ended with a cliffhanger! However for those who have not read the Gillian series, I do recommend starting from book one. Rowland attempts to write a stand alone book, but I would not have enjoyed the series if I had read them out of order.
