Can someone tell me how to go about this, or who I need to contact?

I am learning this site quickly. And what I am learning saddens me. this statement was untrue. The site doesn't sadden me, a situation did. The grump had emerged there for a minute.

Thank you Mary. I wasn't sure what protocol was, never in a million years thought I would have to report someone or something on a book site.

I did send the issue to my tour guide requesting guidance right after I posted this here, I will now report to the site, well, I will after I hear back from my tour guide I suppose. What an absurd thing to have to deal with.

John, please don't let some members make you unhappy with PBS.  People are still people even here where most of the members I've interacted with have been great.   If you need a place to ask questions - here we are.  And if you need to vent - here we are.  We'll always read what you have to say and it might even help us.  No need for names - just the situation.  And I hope you get your shelves or new library (whichever you decide on) done soon! ;D

John, can you share what happened (without naming the member, of course)?  Sometimes it helps to get other people's insight on these issues in case they can shed some light on the whys and wherefores of the other person's actions.  You don't have to, of course.  I just thought it might help. :)

I know what happened! I also was taken in by the offer. And, please don't think that anyone else on PBS is as quick to attack other people as this member was.

PBS is a great place, which I am sure you will find as you stay longer and this one unpleasant occurrence fades away!

I'm sorry I didn't reply in here sooner. Thank you all for the responses, I guess I just allowed my grumpy side to take over. :)

I am already addicted to this site. I can't say I wasn't warned. My sister in law is one who kept repeatedly telling us about it, and I finally checked it out.. Now I have failed to mow my lawn this weekend, have blurry eyes from the computer screen, and a sore hind end. lol.

I love this site. And I first peeked in the forums because I needed some suggestions on books for wife and the responses were so wonderful, helpful and nice, i then ventured to other forums and got more of the same. I won't let one person or situation change that, no way. Having too much fun!

And Thank you again for the credit. That was really very sweet of you. I truly hope I didn't offend you by sending it back. The gesture remains and I am very very thankful, I just couldn't accept the credit too. :)

I should add, in a few months time you all will probably be tired of me! lol. Instead of looking to order all these great books for the wife to read I am going to be saying, please take all these books out of my house!

Still havent decided whether to build a bookcase or just buy one. But we look at each other and say, we need a bookshelf, then we look again and say, or two, or three, or four... this site IS dangerous! :) I guess I am just a dangerous kind of guy. lol.

A bookcase, John? As in ONE?  No, no, no. Wait till you've been on here awhile and yes, you will have multiple bookcases! LOL I have a room devoted to my books and computer. Then I have spillover into the bedroom. Then there is my 23-year-old daughter's room with more bookcases (she belongs to PBS too!) ....

I have about five in my garage too.

The only place I don't allow bookcases is the livingroom, dining room and kitchen!  As much as I love my books I have to have some space that isn't floor to ceiling books! :)

Very crappy situation! I was scammed, along with quite a few other trusting people. BOO.

Thanks Susan, went to go answer in the other thread. I asked PBS thru the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of the page. But, I think I may have buddied my credit after the account was already closed (not sure, but I think so).

I know that we don't name names here, but now you have me paranoid...  scam... ??  geesh

A new member scammer on Book Bazaar offered a deal that was too good to be true.

You can find it over there and figure out by what's left of the posts how it went down. Look for the thread with a lot of replies and for the member who's had his account suspended by TPTB.

Yea right.....snort...snort!you get rid of books and end with with as many...or more!

I too bought into this scam, unfortunately. But out of the 1+ year I've been a member here, this is the first time I've seen or heard of something like this happening around here. 99.9% of the members here are nothing but kind, generous people. Plus the PBS team is awesome, so I'm sure they're working hard to set things right.

Thanks Laura,  I figured it out after I posted her by the red "bullhorn".  Just wondering, can he still use those credits?

According to the pbs team message in that post he already has used most of those credits prior to their suspending the account..

That Book Bazaar thread was slightly confusing.  Did he ask for credits for unpostable books (which you are allowed to do, right?)  Or was he offering a 10 for 1 (or some other kind of crazy deal)?  Just color me confused...  I did figure out the part where people were buddying him credits and he wasn't replying.  I guess...

ETA: Maybe multiple copies of the same books?
