This is a far more risque story than most I read, but it wasn't raunchy or overly sensational. The love scenes were built up to wonderfully and kept in context well. I thought the hero was believable (very much so) for his time period, and the heroine quite believable and likeable for hers. Thrust together, they make a most unlikely but exciting and volatile pair. Jocelyn's verbal parring with the cook, self-made exercise routine and flair for modern accounting helped build her complex, interesting and unique character in a humorous way. Garren became, over time, the kind of hero who jumps out of the book and sweeps me off my feet. I was taken with him by book's end. It's the right kind of novel for reading during a long, luxurious soak in the tub, on a warm night nestled in a porch swing or lawn chair, or on a road trip (Jocelyn starts her journey on a bus with a tour group, after all). Enjoy your trip to old England today.
