I requested two books from someone, and the order timed out because she did not mark the books as mailed by the deadline. According to my transaction archive, the request was canceled on June 7th at 3:12 am. Later on June 7th, I got the following PM:
"Have you received the books? I responded saying that I would mark them received once I got them. So today I get the books in the mail, and first, one of them has some water damage and the other has clearly been used as a coaster at some point in its lifetime; second, the package is completely split open on two sides and held together by a rubber band since it was taped with Scotch tape; and third, the date on the postage is June 9th, a full two days after I got the PM saying that they had been sent the week before. My question is: what would you do in this situation? I haven't marked them as received yet, so I still have my credits. |

Did you cancel the roll-over transactions? If you cancelled them and will not be getting duplicate copies, you need to mark the books received with a problem and ask for the credits back. It really stinks when people are that dishonest, but the site requires us to mark books received unless we get more than 1 copy due to their negligence. |

It's a shame, that you have to mark them RWAP. This'll force you to deal with this person some more, just to get back the credits you have to hand over when you mark them received. I'd definitely include the late postmark, as well as the condition, in the notes. And maybe copy/paste in the PM she sent you too. Just in case, you know? |

Yeah, it's the dishonesty that gets me more than anything. These aren't commonly-posted books, so I would have accepted them even if she had said, "Oops, I forgot to put these in the mail, do you still want them?" I marked the second one received without any problems, though I noted the conditions and such in the additional information for PBS box. However, it won't let me mark the first (the water-damaged one) RWAP. It just takes me back to the main account page once I click "Damaged by sender," and I still have the same number of credits. |

Try again in a few hours -- sounds like a glitch. You could also clear your browser's cache, close your browser, and then open it and try again. |

Makenzie--marking the book RWAP won't change the number of credits you have. If you want your credit back, you need to ask the sender for it. |

Actually it would affect her credits because the sender failed to marked them mailed so the transaction was cancelled and the credits returned. When she marks them received from her Transaction Archive it will take the credits at that time. Have you gotten it to work yet Makenzie? Patty's suggestions on clearing cookies and closing your browser usually helps clear hangups in the system.. |

When she failed to mark the books as mailed the system would have reordered the books for you or put them on your WL. So if you aren't showing a current transaction for them, you might want to check your WL and remove them unless you want better copies. |

Yes, I made sure to put the books on hold on my WL when I got her message on the off chance that another copy of one came in. I still haven't managed to mark that book RWAP. I tried clearing the cookies and closing the browser, but it still just directs me to my main account page when I mark "Damaged by sender." I'm not sure what the problem is. |

Makenzie, at this point, if you've cleared your cache and rebooted -- and maybe taken a look at it with a different browser -- I'd recommend asking the Admin Team to take a look at it. Go down to the bottom right corner of any page, and under "company" click on ""contact us". Use the Feedback option. I'd love to know how this comes out. It's a puzzle.
