I received an audio book (3 CDs) with a few skips toward the end. I'd like to post it, but is it common to swap discs with skips? In other words, I don't feel comfortable stating it's in perfect condition. Can I just post and then PM member to inform them prior to sending??? or just forget about it? TIA |

Gloria, this is what the Help Center says about skips in an audio book:
"Audiobooks must be playable to be swapped here, without more than two (minor) skips." The help doc doesn't elaborate or go beyond that brief statement about skips. I listen to lots of audio books on CD's while I'm in my car but mostly play them at home in my older CD player - "boom box," if you will. Now this is not an expensive player that I'm using, and I've had some audio CD's skip in it. But if I put that same CD into my computer or into my car CD player, it doesn't skip. I've only had one audio book with such a badly scratched CD that it wouldn't play those particular tracks in either my computer or in my car CD player. I would say that if it plays okay in other CD players, then it would be okay to post. If it doesn't play okay in other players, then don't post it.

Well, I just attempted listening to the disc in my daughter's Princess CD player. ;) It has more than two skips. The problem is that It has a nasty scratch. sigh I sure wish the poster would have let me know about the condition. It's a Nancy Reagan book and it's damaged right around the time she's telling about when Ronald Reagan got shot. ;(
Thanks for your post and the info from the help doc. I appreciate all of your input.
