Part of the interactive triology of The Gilded Chain and Lord of the Fire Lands. This is a fascinating idea: each book is like a part of a puzzle. You cannot really understand the whole tapestry of what happened until you read all three. Duncan has a great gift for storytelling. I loved the book (and the triology!).

A great tale of loyalty and chivalry. The character, Princess Malinda adds a nice new texture to the already multidimensional story about the King's Blades.
