Think up! Grant tells himself. Where there's sink, there's gotta be lift, man... hang in there! And then he spots it, a small, barely visible strip near a little shack. At a maximum glide he slides quietly over cactus and brush and, seconds later, sighs to a full stop. Safe on the ground and thankful to be there, he doesn't hear anyone approaching until a voice rasps in his ear: "All right, fella, turn around. Slow."
