A great concept went bad - too hard to read... why start a conversation between two characters, and then lose the whole thing (repeatedly) by having long inner thought paragraphs between simple conversational sentences? Gosh, each of the four stories was only about 50-60 pages long, and still, Ms. Rock kept losing me. I was exhausted having to turn the pages back to recall the last thing said by the time I sorted through the internal dialogue. I ended up just skimming the last two stories and still got the basic idea while avoiding all the junk in the middle. I really cannot recommend this book, which is such a shame since I was so looking forward to it.

I had a hard time reading this book. I picked it up on impulse because I love sports stories without realizing it was 4 short stories. I read only the first two. Obviously I'm not a short story reader.
