This story was surprising and original. The characters were believable. I think it might make a good movie. A 70+ yr. old man who has spent his entire life next to a toxic waste dump find himself pursued and persecuted. He defends himself and his family by using his unique powers. I don't want to spoil the plot so I will only say that he surprises himself with his abilities.

I thought that this book was one of Foster's best. He has a way of painting a picture in your mind and the characters come alive. The plot may be a bit far fetched but it's original and your heart seems to stop when the the action is at its peak. I've read most of Foster's work and although I love many of his books, (Splinter of the Mind's Eye, Nor Crystal Tears, Codgerspace...), this one gets a special place in my top 10. I've always wanted to see this made into a movie. God the effects would be great! Enjoy.
