My mailman (well lady actually) left a pile of our mail outdoors for some reason yesterday, we all got home after dark last night and it rained most of the afternoon yesterday and all last night. We didn't find the pile of mail until this morning and it is ALL ruined including a $40 wish list book I've had on my wish list for 2 years (along with a bank statement and a few bills that have to be paid). I am really ticked. Why on earth would she have left the mail sitting on a lawn chair on an overcast day with a prediction of 60% chance of rain?

What a shame! Was it too big for the mailbox (because of the book), and she was not willing to walk to bring it closer to your door where it might be under shelter?

The bank statement and the bills can be dealt with, but what a shame to have a nice book ruined!

I'd be asking the local postmaster about that one.  Some mail delivery people will leave mail on a covered porch or other acceptable secure location....but a lawn chair?

Ditto on the complain to local postmaster.   I'd also RWAP the wislist book "Damaged by PO" and mark the transaction "resloved" so that I could get back to the front of the WL.

How frustrating!
