I was waiting in line at my post office to buy stamps.  The clerk was helping mail a package for an older gentleman.  As he was digging through his wallet for the money, the clerk just told him, "You can pay me another time," then went ahead and put the full postage on the package.  As he was leaving, the older guy asked if he needed to sign an IOU.  The clerk just smiled.

I had the same thing happen to me on Friday.  I was in the annex store that the local library has in our mall where they sell donated books.  I only had $2 cash on me and was going to pick up a just a few books at 25 to 50 cents each when the clerk saw me looking at the Love Inspired titles and offered me a box of close to 100 of them at a substancial savings but more than the cash I had.  I asked her if she took debit cards and she said they weren't set up for that, but I could take the books and pay next time I was in.  What a pleasant surprise!  I ended up remembering where I had stashed a few extra dollars in my pocketbook and ended up paying then, but I thought it was very nice for  her to offer.
