My puppy has a plush octupus toy that she just adores. After weeks of being carried around in the puppy's mouth and having her lie on top of it, it reeks! I was thinking about sticking it in the washing machine, but I checked and it doesn't have any washing instructions on it, so I don't know if it's even washable; I don't want to ruin it. Does anybody have any advice for cleaning a stinky puppy toy?

I always wash my dogs toys in the washing machine.  I don't typically use laundry detergent...if needs a little extra I just put a squirt of dish soap in the washer.  I've never really had any problems.  The only ones that have fallen apart are the ones that were ripped in the 1st palce.

If it's a stuffed animal, I wash it.  If it has a squeeker it might not survive washing, but the toy should be fine.

You can wash it on delicate so the agitator isn't going full steam.

I've got a puppy who tends to pee right where her toys are.  They were Sierra's toys before and have made it through the washing machine several times.
