Nice read - I enjoy Sir John Fielding and his protege Jeremy. This one involves smuggling at a sea town

It was fine. Read it very quickly. When it was sent to me it was suggested I should really start with number one and maybe that would have made a difference. As it was, it was OK, just not my kind of mystery book.

This is the eighth volume in Bruce Alexander's mystery series of Sir John Fielding, the "Blind Beak" of Bow Street, London.

I hate everything about this series.

I hate the person at the used book store who, having asked what kind of books I was looking for, got me started reading this series by handing me the first book in this series and saying, "You might find this interesting."

I hate picking up one of the books in this series as, despite having other books open, I cannot stop reading until I have finished it, even staying up until the early morning hours.

I hate the fact that this is the eighth book in the series.

I hate that there are only three more novels in this series.

I hate the author for dying before he could write more books in this series.

I mean, come on, was that fair?
