This was a real change of pace for Hunter. Although it is a Bob Lee Swagger story, Bob Lee seems to take second fiddle to the story of Mili Petrova, a beautiful female Russian sniper who was sent on a mission to kill one of Hitler's close henchmen during World War II. Swagger is recruited by Kathy Reilly, a reporter friend to help her find out the story behind Petrova who has for some reason been erased from Russian records. The story of Petrova is very interesting including her exploits to achieve her mission. Along the way, Swagger and Reilly are discouraged from pursuing the story, but why?? There is also a subplot involving the production of some Zyklon B, the substance used to gas the Jews by the Nazis during the war. For me, this story didn't really pull me in until the second half of the novel, but then I was hooked! I would overall give this a solid recommendation.
