Fantastic thriller/horror. Read like a movie. Exactly what I would expect from a great Christopher Golden book.
I love snow, especially blizzards and this is what drew me to this story. I got my fill of snowflakes and freezing cold in this superb book.
Golden does an expert job at creating the scenes, the descriptions the characters so perfectly. You simply can NOT put this one down. I wish for a book 2, and with an ending like that.... perhaps.....

Even though I read this one in a nice, warm home/building, when I would look out the window at the snow it would cause me to shiver every time. This book really did make you feel the cold. Probably a great summer book to help relieve some of the heat (didn't think of that until it was too late).
The story centers around a small town in New England. When a snow storm hits, it isn't a regular one. This storm brings with it creatures that are hungry... for us!
That is how the story starts. Right off it is crazy and things are happening and people are dying and then all of the sudden the storm ends and we flash 12 years into the future. Times have changed, people have moved on. Until another storm is predicted to hit and people start remembering what happening all those years ago. Strange things are happening and the town is suspending in fear.
For most part the book was great. It had lots of suspense, great characters and unusual creatures. The only part that failed for me was there was too many characters. You had to remember who was with who from the beginning and who got killed. Then the dead come back in the 2nd part and inhabit other people. It gets really confusing at times. Even so, it was still a cold and creepy story that I enjoyed up to the end.

A cold and creepy book. I wouldn't recommend reading it in a blizzard!

This was interesting, loved the story idea but didn't really have the ring of a true horror story. I am measuring it against SK which may not be fair but that is my stick.
Characters were well developed, story seemed to fall flat in the middle then picked back up towards the end. I didn't think the suspense part was that well developed and the suffering tortured if I only characters were definitely well done.

WOW terrific fast paced read with just enough twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat without losing you. GREAT read I look forward to more by this author.

A creepy, scary story of a blizzard stealing people's souls. A great book to read during a blizzard.....if you are brave enough!
