This is an absorbing and fairly quick read. It is bittersweet if you are a dog lover. There are wonderful heartwarming stories and sad stories, as well. The history of dogs in the military is fascinating and I found that to be the best part of the book. There are groups of photos throughout. Mostly, the book is about the camaraderie of these K9 soldiers and their handlers. Interesting read.
