I'm not sure I understand it's function.  Do you use Book Journal?  How does it help you?

Thanks!

I think if you want to keep more detailed notes about books then you can purchase this option of PBS.  I don't use it and use goodreads.com to keep notes, reviews, etc.

you can keep a note about a book by clicking on the yellow diamond on your list (whichever one) and it will show up there.  I have used this if I need to remember that a book belongs to someone else or who I have lent the book to.

I've heard many people also use it to organize their bookshelves.  They keep notes in the journal as to where they've placed a book so they can easily find it when they need it.  Very handy for those folks who trade use additional swap sites besides PBS (I know, I know - there ARE no other swap sites!) to help keep track of where a given copy of a book is at any given time.

I don't currently use it, but I certainly need to organize my bookshelves so I should consider getting it myself!!!

I don't use it. Don't know of anyone who does...but I'm sure it's a lovely feature.

My system is to store books in copy paper boxes alphabetically by author. It works great but I can definitely not claim to be a cat free house as my cats love to nap on the boxes.

oh well.. I use the hide and seek method for my books.  ....roflmao....  Seriously, I put them in plastic bins and go through the bins until I find the books.  One of these days, when I have nothing else to do, probably about a month after I die, I will alphabetize them and label the bins.  hahahahaha... pipe dreams...

I use it to mark books on my TBR pile as to whether they are unpostable, an ARC, a keeper or for a specific swap.  That way I don't accidentally post a book that I should have.  I use it to mark a book if I've lent it to someone and when.  There are a series of questions or prompts that you can set up for whatever purpose you'd like.

There is a 7 day free trial that you can use to check it out and decide for yourself if it's useful.  Also, here is the tutorial which may give you more information. It's $8 a year and for me, that's a good deal because I read so much, I can't keep track of all of it in my head.

I've been using Book Journal since January.  I make myself do it because I so often forget a book soon after I read it.  I set up the following questions:  Setting, Major Characters, Short Summary, Did I learn anything from this book and, if so, what, Would I read this author again, A rating (1-5), any quote from the book that impressed me.

I occasionally look back to refresh my memory of a book or author.  I also look at the books that I read each month and choose the best one from each month.  This just helps me remember books that I've read.

Aha!  I am not the only one using the plastic bin/hide and seek method for the books I have posted!!  Because of space constraints, they are stacked on top of one another.  I view it as a way to get exercise....lifting them off, putting them back, bending and stretching to look throught them!!! lol

Marla!  LOL!!  Exactly!!  I can store a lot of books in the same floor space using stacked plastic bins.  I make hubby lift and move them, tho.  He hates PBS.  ...roflmao....
