I just couldn't get into this book and couldn't even finish it. Sarah had a one-night stand with Daniel, a man who was known as a hermit. One night in the city, he met her, took her to his room and they made love and a child. He never heard from her until a lawyer shows up with a three-month old baby girl that he is supposed to take custody of for one year. (Sarah has another child who is dying of a rare liver disorder and she can't take care of both.) Sarah comes back to Daniel's hometown after the death of her older child and wants her daughter back. This is such an implausible plot and I kept thinking "Why doesn't she GET help? Welfare? Why not contact Daniel and let him know the circumstances before just dunping the baby on him?" Just not one of the better stories I've read.
