Excerpt: Tintinhull -- a parish in the hundred to which it gives name, 2j miles S. S. W. from Ilchester ; containing 68 inhabited houses, and 84 families, 59 of whom are employed in agriculture. The church is dedicated to St. Margaret, and consists of a nave and chancel, between which on the north side is a tower containing a clock and five bells. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the deanery of Ilchester ; Rev. John Valintine, incumbent ; instituted 1816. In this parish is the tithing of Sock-Dennis, formerly a very populous place, but now consisting only of two inhabited houses, and two families. It is a rectory, and a sinecure, the church having been destroyed long since; the Rev. J. E. Wyndham, is both patron and incumbent; instituted 1819. Population of Tintinhull, including Sock-Dennis, 1801, 333 -- 1811, 388 -- 1821, 398. -- a parish in the hundred of Taunton and Taunton- Dean, 10 miles Nt W. from Taunton, containing 16 inhabited houses, and 22 families, 17 of whom are employed in agriculture. The church is a small building, dedicated to St. John the Baptist, and consists of a nave, chancel, and north aisle, with an embattled tower, containing three bells. The living is a rectory in the deanery of Dunster, and in the gift of the crown ; Rev. Edward Cross, incumbent; instituted 1780. Population, 1801, 105 -- 1811, 117 -- 1821, 113. Trerorouoh -- a parish in the hundred of Carhampton, 7 miles S. W. from Watchet, containing 20 inhabited houses, and the same number of families, the whole of whom are employed in agriculture.
