I have many books that I had on my shelves before PBS .

I discovered today that I could post them to my TBR pile here and it shows if they're WL'd.  That helps me to whittle down that pile of books!

So far I've posted all the A authors on my shelves and have  20 are WL books.  I know what I'm going to be reading for the rest of this month.  That's really a neat feature!

That little W does help you pick which to read!

I love that feature of the TBR pile also.  Plus, it's just a click or two to get that book posted once you are done reading it.

I don't think I've ever even thought to see if I could post something directly to my TBR list.  Is that new?  Nifty idea.  Everything goes there from my requests of course, but it'd be nice to track stuff I get from elsewhere there too.

My TBR is my most used list on here. The first thing I do with new books is add them to my TBR to see if they are WLed.

I love the TBR shelf....I know what books are WL'd and I can try and read those first if I need credits and to also help reduce my TBR mountain!

Me too - but since I joined PBS two months ago the list has gotten really long, LOL!

Cool!  I did not know about this.  I never put books on my TBR list.  In fact when PBS tries to put my received books there I don't allow it.  I thought it was silly.  After all, I KNOW what books I want/need to read ;-)  Why would I need a PBS list when I have my own bookshelf at home?  I had wondered how members seemed to know what was being wished for.  I'll start using the TBR list now.

I've been using my TBR list from the beginning, but after reading this thread earlier in the day, I decided to go put in all of my books from my physical TBR bookshelf upstairs.  With the exception of 3 books that don't have an ISBN nuumber, I now have 101 books on my TBR list!  ACK!  No wonder my husband said that I shouldn't bring in new books until I go through some of those!

I did find one book I picked up at the library sale that has 226 wishers!  I'll have to move that up on my list of things to read (I have a few books to read first that I either have to return to a friend or read for challenges, etc...but I will get to it eventually)!

I have 159 on mine (she says in a very small, embarrassed voice).

This is like AA.

I always put books I have into my TBR pile whenever I get them--that way I can just go there and post them. (It's not a new feature at all, been that way since they made the TBR pile.)

I rarely use it to determine what to read next though--I read what I want to, post it when I'm done and if someone wants it, great! If not, it can sit on my shelf for awhile. I used to let the W's dictate more often what I would read, but then would end up frustrated because when I would go to post the book after reading it, it would end up going through 2, 3, 4 or sometimes more people before the order was accepted. Bah!

I had pared my TBR down briefly but the darned thing is back up to almost 500 again now.

OK, OK I was with Valerie and have never used my TBR list now I can see how helpful it could be. Oh Bother, one more thing to occupy the time that I don't have. First I will have to send out all of my notes to the amazing number of new members encouraging them to read the book condition guidelines before they post. Holy goat!, we are getting tons of new members.

re: New members.  I think Oprah's Book Club just mentioned something about PBS in her newsletter, so get ready for a deluge!

I believe there is no limit to the TBR list.

736. I am Nellie, and I am a book-a-holic.

Great tip - thanks!

I was wondering why the system doesn't tell you whether your book is wishlisted as soon as you post it to your bookshelf. But I guess there's no need to, since the title will immediately pop up in your "Wish List Hold" tab.
