It's a sad thing I have noticed, but consistently, some of the rudest, most unfriendly customers in our bookstore have been those buying Christian fiction, non-fiction, and Bibles. It is NOT a good witness, either to the store employees OR the other customers who might notice what you are purchasing. If you are going to be buying merchandise that proclaims you as a Christian, you might want to consider how you are behaving while doing so... |

I work in a bookstore and have not noticed this. The only thing I can think of is the woman who didn't want to talk about the CF books she was buying which I happened to have read. I mentioned they were good and she said nothing. Otherwise they are all real friendly in talking about the books or taking recommendations based on what they purchased. |

Bren- what a wonderful reminder and one that we all need! It also extends to those that have Christian bumperstickers on their car, yet drive like rude idiots. One thing that annoys me to bits is to see people who have obviously just came from church on Sunday but then treat the waitress/waiter like they are trash and then proceed to stiff them on the tip. What kind of witness is that?? My sister works in a store and says that they start cringing when Sunday comes because all the "church people" will be out shopping and they are the rudest of customers ever. This is a great reminder to check ourselves-- our witness is often not from our mouth, but by our actions!! Christ did not just speak love, He demonstrated it to all that He met and through His work on the cross. Faith in action is better than diamonds and gold. |

This, sorry to say, is soooo TRUE!!! At my parent's church, the exiting sign says: "Your are now leaving a Christian Zone: Now act like one!" Laurie Carlson |

Love the exit sign at your parents' church! We have one over our churchs' exit that says "NOW ENTERING THE MISSION FIELD" |

Not just shopping, but doing anything. The best way to evangelize your faith is to act appropriately. |
