This is an early book published by this author. I enjoyed the read. The book is set in a geographical setting that I am familiar with (Duluth, MN and Superior, WI) and I thought reading it would give me some type of perspective about the story.
The story line is OK, but the author spends WAY too much time describing his main character and the surrounding area. The author would go off on "tangents" describing the thought processes of the main character.
However predictable you may think this story goes, there is NO ONE (and I do mean NO ONE),other than the author, who would be able to predict the ending.
I was floored at the ending. If you have never read a book by this author, you owe it to yourself to see his raw talent maturing in this book.
