A week or two ago a book came up on my wishlist and I ordered it and got it. It was the first of a series. I had the second book but not the first.

The book arrived with no problems.

Today, I get the second book (of which I already had a copy of ) from the same person with a request ID#.

I did not request this book (again, I have a copy).

I did contact the person to see why she sent it to me.

On one hand it's nice, but I thought that a Request ID came from a book requested from your own wishlist.

Could she have made two labels?

However she won't get a credit for this book.

She might have printed the 1st books wrapper twice. Did she send the 2nd as a freebie? The gesture is nice and I hope she/he did not expect to get a credit for it.

I'll agree that printing the original wrapper twice would be about the only way for this to happen.  You can check your Transaction Archive (unfortunately I don't see transaction ID numbers) and see if enough of the info fits to confirm the scenario?

Otherwise PM and say thank you, or see if she wants to buddy a credit to return the book?

I'm wondering if she printed the label twice-saw the next book in the series and the extra label-then panicked thinking she'd forgot to actually mail the book. I can see this happening if the titles had similar names and they had similar covers.  Especially if she didn't pay attention to the invoice part.

I actually sent my WL book to a requester than the one she requested which was also a WL book.  Same color and similar cover (gold heart on the front).  It was embarassing.

I like to add she was so sweet.  I told her what I did, but told her to keep that book and I would forward the one she requested that day. She mailed me back my WL book.  Awesome member.

Check the second page of the wrapper if she included it. The title of the book she was supposed to send will be there.

What probably happened is that she posted both books at the same time. Each was offered to a different wisher. She printed the wrapper addressed to you twice and ended up sending both books to you. So there is somebody out there who is waiting for book 2 and thinks it's en route. The sender can print the correct wrapper, attach postage and mail it to you so that you can send that book on to the person to whom it was supposed to go. If the postage is on the high side, then she can give you a credit to forward it, or she can just have the transaction canceled by PBS and then tell you to repost it so it will be offered to that person again and you'll get the credit for sending it.

I actually did this exact thing when I first joined PBS - I had posted a series of books that were WL, and two of the books were immediately requested by different people.  But somehow when I was printing the wrappers I accidentally printed one wrapper twice and (being a newbie) didn't notice my mistake until after I had mailed out both books.  I PM'd the person who got both books and she very nicely sent it along to the correct person (I offered her a credit which she didn't accept, which was a very sweet welcome to this site).  I would send her a PM and let her know she may have inadvertantly sent you the wrong book.
