STOP READING THIS IF YOU HAVE NOT COMPLETED THE TRILOGY. I don't want to be that person who ruined the ending...
I just finished reading Stephen Lawhead's Song of Albion trilogy and wanted to get other people's perspectives on the ending. My question is this: At the end of The Paradise War, Llew comes out of the carin and finds Nettles. Nettles doesn't recognize Lewis because he looks like Llew. This is the first time that Lewis realizes just how much his physical appearance has changed. At the end of The Endless Knot, Lewis returns to the Manifest world after Llew is buried. But there is no mention of what Lewis looks like when he does return. Susannah recognized him, although with some effort. Is that because she was expecting someone else or because he looks different? Does he look like Lewis before he entered Albion? Does he look like Llew as he did before the refining fire? After the refining fire? Is he something in between? I have some ideas on this but I'm curious to hear what others think before posting my response. If I don't hear anything, then I'll post my response anyway and we'll see what happens. |
