A wonderful, melancholy book. I very much enjoyed it!

Not my favorite Lott story but an easy read. I sometimes had a difficult time following the narrator because she speaks typical southern speak. I would have to reread a sentence to catch her meaning but the two main characters have a special relationship that develops very sweetly and it was not too long a book.

A story of a modern-day Naomi and her daughter-in-law, Ruth. The loss of their loved one, Mahlon, Naomi's son and Ruth's husband sends the two of them on a journey together back to Naomi's hometown. It's definitely a story of true love - the kind between men and women and women of two generations, also.

A good one!

This is a lovely retelling of the story of Ruth. Lott does a fabulous job of creating the story - and you forget that the author is a man!

Boring and repeats itself so much it is irritating.
