  I sit in the audience

I see an empty piano chair

I haven't touched a piano in years

And I asked my self why…..

I had no inspiration until the day you were born

There are so many emotions I had ignored

I can write songs forever

From your red hair to your toes

The pain I went through

is nothing but a faded memory

I forget the 9 months of misery

With the joy you bring to your daddy and I

I can rock in my chair and sing you a la la bye

Oh.. This piano is going to be put to good use

For I no longer sit in the audience

I am now on center stage

I play a piece and you smile at me

I can't wait till I hear you say Mommy

I am now on center stage

I play a piece and you smile at me

I can now play a piece

With joy to watch someone smile back

at me
