I just read on Charlaines website that there were short stories and that we should try to read them in order with the books.  Does anyone know what order withing the books they go??

Her Sookie HB book coming out this fall is all short stories.  I'm hoping there is a time line.

Grrrrr........ This is one of my major beefs with paranormal series.   There are so many paranormal anthologies out there that contain short stories or novellas that are really part of a series, but very few authors include those short stories/novellas when they give the order of the books to read!    I think the only author I've found so far that does lay that out very nicely for the reader on her website is Nora Roberts (her In Death series).    For all other series, you can sometimes find a list that includes the short stories, but in this instance I couldn't.

Also, sometimes an Amazon.com reviewer is nice enough to point out where a short story belongs in a series, but if you go to that source you are risking spoilers.

Here is a link to her bibliography page on the Sookie books and stories.  If they are in publishing date order, this should help.  But the stories and the books are on separate sections of the list.

If you go to Charlaine Harris' website, http://www.charlaineharris.com/

under the biblography tab there is a chronological listing of the short stories.  You can figure out where they fit by looking at the (oldest listed) publishing date.  In her defense, I think the short stories are fun and it is a way for less well known writers to introduce their material by using established authors coat tails for exposure.

There is only one short story had had any plot clues important to the overall arc, and that was Bite which revealed some information about Sookie and Hadley her cousin.  They are a fun bit of Sookie and were good to have while waiting for the newest book to come out.
