I came across Mayhue on Amazon while searching for new authors I might enjoy. When more than one review compared her with Karen Marie Moning, I had to read her books.

Like KMM's Highlander series, Mayhue's stories revolve around hunky Scotsmen, spunky heroines, powerful and often irresponsible Fae (faerie or fairy...so not Tinkerbell), and a happily ever after (HEA). Who could pass that up? Not me!

The series is called the Daughters of the Glen.

Mayhue did a wonderful job weaving incredible but energetic plots with characters who have depth. The heroes (hot, intelligent, and overprotective) and the heroines (smart, witty, and a touch quirky) in this series often reminded me of Moning's. If the Fae legend wasn't so very different from Moning this could easily be considered a spin off of her Highlander series. Moning followers will enjoy this series. Romance and magic beautifully combine to entice the reader in this series. And while each book is a strong stand-alone romance, there is enough back story in each book for the reader to follow, the reading experience is richer when read in order.

Melissa Mayhue has become one of my must buy authors.

I really enjoyed this book! The hero and heroine didn't spend the entire book denying each other....very nice. Highly recommended read in this series.

Nine years ago, Faerie Magic saved Mairi MacKiernan at the cost of her dreams of happiness, snatching her from her life in 1272, and depositing her in the twenty-first century. Now she must save the last Daughter of the MacKiernan family...who was murdered in 1295.

Okay, I was entranced by the cover art and really didn't read the back cover before I bought it. I couldn't get past the first chapter because I prefer more realistic time travel stories.

I loved this book! Third in the series, it just keeps getting better. I love the Fae aspect of the series. It brings to life the story of a Fae "daughter" and what she has to do to find her true love and fulfill her destiny. This book will pull you in and keep you until the very end.

The third book in the Daughters of the Glen series pulls together a character form the first book with a character from the second for a love story of their own. When Mairi MacKiernan was pulled out of her own time along with her brother, she felt that all chance for finding her true love was lost. When Ramos Servans discovered that his whole life had been a lie, and his father was the evil fae, rather than the good, he vowed to make amends by serving to protect the mortals his father hunted. But when Ramos is sent back in time to rescue Mairi from her self-assigned quest, they both come face-to-face with the realization that fae magic doesn't always work in the way you expect.

I really enjoy these stories and am appreciating the way the author is weaving multiple threads into them and developing the convoluted way the fae descendants relate to the mortal world.

Like another reviewer here I had read KMM and searched Amazon for a like author. MM was the best choice. Love Love Love the Daughters of the Glen series. Her writing is honest and so current yet takes you to the past and represents the time perfectly. The story of Mairi was heartwarming.

The heroine and hero of this book were so likeable. Mairi and Ramos travel back in time through a fairy gate. Mairi wants to prevent the untimely death of her cousin Sallie. Ramos is assigned as Mairi's guardian. Happy reunions and fighting dangerous enemies still leave time for them to realize they are each other's one true love.
I recommend this book and the series to anyone who wants good writing and believable characters.

Melissa Mayhue's books just keep getting better. The first two were really good - and this was GREAT fun. I can hardly wait to begin reading the next in the series.
