Well, that is how I took the heroine of Walking Across Egypt, 78 year old Mattie Rigsbee.

At first I wasn't liking this book very much, but then as Mattie and her clan and neighbors gathered round the dinner table, all I could think of was Stephanie Plum's family at Friday night dinner.  Grandma Mazur without the gun in her purse and overly-permed hair, Grandma Mazur with a Southern accent and a whole lot more common sense.  Grandma does funeral homes, Mattie visits prisoners.

A sweet little book, with a couple of problems, so it is free with an order off my bookshelf.

The seller's sticker was removed from the back cover and the area is rough, sort of cottony.  Certainly no big deal.  However, it is unpostable because --the oddest thing-- there are a few pages in the middle where someone put parentheses around the sentences.  Can't figure out why.  The word sixteen is crossed out. (???)  "Go to hell, Lamaar," is crossed out.  (Reminds me of the time L.G. got a book with all the swears crossed out!!!)

So, anyway, pm me if you want it, and please post here so others will know it is taken.
