In the future, when we finally send an expedition to Mars, we'll discover all sorts of weird things that defy imagination. On Mars, there are cats, but their stripes run lengthwise! There are mushrooms, but they're really big! There are fish, but...well, they're pretty much fish.

I was surprised to learn that this book was written, and set, after Space Cat Visits Venus. In fact, in the first chapter, they (Space Cat, or as his friends call him, Flyball, and Colonel Fred Stone) are returning from Venus, intending to go back to the moon, when an asteroid throws them off course! But that's what's great about Space Cat - anybody else would go to Mars first, but Ruthven Todd sends his characters to Venus. Then, when they're done with that, they might head to Mars.

I've said it before, and I say it now: Space Cat=Love.
