This hasn't happened in a couple of years but it's happening now.  The last three books I've received have been unpostable.  One book is water damaged and two others have **gag**  FOOD particles on the pages.  Cheetoh dust fingerprints and something that looks like it might be gravy. Or something.  If I wanted snacks with my books, I'd borrow them from the library!  Ugh. It's getting so that I dread having to open a PBS package and that makes me sad.

Sorry for the rant.  I guess this is just a PSA to remind people to check their books before they mail them.  **sigh**

I am often amazed at how grungy some of the books are that I receive - especially the covers!

A almost-dry damp cloth would remove any smoodgey stuff on the cover without damaging it - I do this all the time!

Unfortunately, this schmutz was on the pages.  I'm usually a little less picky about the covers.

*hugs*  LeeAnne, are you sure it's Cheeto dust?  I sometimes use colored chalk and have to be careful to to leave smudges on my books...mine are pastel pink, yellow, & blue.

Unfortunately your's isn't the first comment (or even the second) regarding cheeto fingerprints...must be a popular reading snack.

@Hunter S >> Unfortunately, about 60% of the time I find various crumbs and smears of food and other unmentionables in books that I borrow from the library.  I have gone to the library to pick up books that I've put on hold only to check them out and immediately return them because of their condition.  Sad but true.  Not sure why people treat books the way they do.

@ Denise L ">> Definitely Cheetoh dust.  Bright orange and cheesy.  Bleh.
