What book are you reading right now? I'm studying Revelations at bible study, and reading Romans at home.

I am currently reading 2nd Kings and then I try to read some in Psalms each time.  Shayla- I love the book of James! It is easily one of my favorite. He is such a "get right to the point, no wasted words" writer. You know exactly where he stands and there is no misunderstanding any of his exhortations or instructions to Christians.

I'm reading Hebrews.  I like to read the parables in Luke as well.

Michelle, we too are doing Revelations in our Ladies Class....what a wonderful (and HARD) book to do!  LOL  I'm loving it...we'll be starting Chapter 11 tonight.  Can't wait.  I actually co-teach it with a deacon's wife.  It's really great to have so many differing opinions and thoughts on it all.  :)

In my own study time I am going through 1Peter. I am taking my time and making notes of things that the Lord lays on my heart. It's been very good. Also I just finished going through 1 Chronicles with my boys (ages 11 & 9). They hung in there through all the geneologies... that can be tough! I think we may go through the Psalms to give them a little break.  Also my hubby and I are reading through Proverbs together.

To Pat who is reading 2Kings: When I went through that book with my kids we wrote lists of all the different kings and put a smiley face (good king) or a frowny face (bad king) by each name... unfortunately we had more frowny faces *sigh*

Good question Michelle! And I hope you're enjoying Revelation, it can be a bit mind-boggling... but HE wins in the end (oops... did I give it away :)

Revelation can be kinda hard to understand on your own.  I read a book by Scott Hahn called "The Lamb's Supper".  Easy read, easy to understand.  I really enjoyed it!

I'm reading through the Bible this year as well.  Just started Judges....(I'm a few days behind) and also read a NT passage and Psalm or Proverb passage every day.  I did not get to participate in our ladies Bible Study this year because I had a very fussy nursing baby...she was not very transportable :-(  Can't wait for fall!!  I really enjoy the accountability and the discussion opportunities a group provides for that in depth study.

Rebecca, I agree. It's so nice to get together with a small group of women and get deep into the Bible. We spent our full time this evening discussing one parable (The Parable of the Talents) and it was a great way to spend 90 minutes.

Our Ladies small group Bible study is an important weekly event for me. I always look forward to the fellowship and the spiritual growth I get there.

I'm doing the One Year Bible Reading Plan found at:

http://www.christiananswers.net/q-eden/biblereading-1yr.html

I'm in Matthew right now and am enjoying skipping around and reading from books all over the Bible.  I'm taking it much more slowly than recommended because I need to meditate and backtrack to get the most out of it.  It should take me at least 3 years at my pace!  But the Lord is showing me knew things every day.  He will open our eyes if we really have a desire to draw nearer to Him.

He sure does love us!

I just started Beth Moore's "Jesus the One and Only" study on my own, so it's got verses from all over.

I'm also working on starting up again reading through the Message New Testament.  :)
