The book is very readable and very old 1956 to be exact.  The cover on the spine is peeling away-the part that tells the title and author's name.  It is exposing the place where the pages are glued together-but the pages are very intact.  I could tape it back and that raises another ? Are taped/repaired books postable? There are 2 pieces of the cover of the spine missing but these are both less than an inch and together an inch maybe.  It is a hardback and the pages are still white no yellowing at all.  Plus, it has 2 post it notes that someone wrote on about the book that to me gives it charm and it would come with them. I found it in a thrift store.

Tape covering an unpostable repair is still unpostable; from your descriptions, I'd say your book is unpostable.  You can offer it in the Book Bazaar.

I agree with Catt -   It doesn't meet PBS postability guidelines.   Every book must end it's journey with someone -you are the one this time around :)
