Engaging, intelligent read from a master storyteller. FBI Special Agent in Charge Mark Beamon is forced to work on the other side of the law to prove his innocence in a series of dark events.

I absolutely recommend this book. Of the Kyle Mills books that I have read this one blew me away and is my favorite. Mark Beamon is better than he's ever been! From Arab terrorists who smuggle a rocket launcher and rockets across our southern border, to drug trafficking from Mexico, to a coup in Laos, this book is fast paced and full of action!

It reminds me of "Without Remorse" by Tom Clancy where the bad guy hunted by authorities is really the good guy!

This is a fast moving action book about an FBI agent searching for rocket launchers planted in the US by terrorists. I thought the story was interesting but complicated. If you have young children around when listening to this, I would advise headphones. There is quite a bit of rough language.

Fast moving plot. Gripping thriller. Chilling suspense.
Mark Beamon, an unconventional FBI agent gets pulled in for one last assignment, our nations war against terrorism. Videotapes begin arriving at television stations across the country. One of the messages: A terrorist cell inside the U.S. possesses a rocket launcher & will begin attacking civiliam targets within days.
Beamon suspecting a connection between the mob & these fanatics, goes undercover with another agent to meet with a Mafia don who might have critical information concerning the terrorists. That simple meeting goes horribly wrong as Beamon's partmener is executed after his cover is blown. Beamon, who barely escapes with his life, is determined to find the source of the leak & more important, in one final act of self destructive heroism, to exact revenge. Beamon spirals into a world of drug trafficking, government corruption, murder & betrayal.

This book carries with it some great suspense, action, intrigue, espionage, basically everything you could want in a thriller. On his website, Kyle Mills says this may be his best book. Now, so far, I've only read this one and "Darkness Falls," and I'll have to agree that it could be either one of the books I've read. While "Darkness Falls" had you thinking this could happen, this book provides that and the fun of some global hopping and undercover crime fighting. I would love to see this book made into a movie and have Jeremy Irons as Christian Volkov and maybe Bruce Willis as Mark Beamon. I think that would be perfect.
