Wonderful sequel to Niccolo Rising. I love learning some early renaissance history and geography like this. The maps are very helpful before during and after reading. The forward, geneology and the cast of characters equally essential. One hopes for characters, man or woman, in our generation of such talent, ability to learn, and loyalty to humanity. We are lucky to have had such a writer as Dame Dorothy Dunnett, OBE.
