Not only are they the best for hanging out laundry (my favorite household chore , probably not be possible now for several months here in SE Michigan), they also make great clips for snack bags, cereal inner bags, even brown sugar.

Though I shy away from buying too much at dollar stores, I did get a package of fifty clothespins at my local $ store for, well, one dollar!!  Think how much 50 plastic chip clips would cost!  (Yes, these were made in China.  Sigh.)

I love wooden clothes pins.  We use them for everything.  The great thing is that your package should last for years.

I use these for the same things and you can also make cute gifts.  Take a permanent marker and write such labels as, Chips, Bread, Cereal, etc. on the clips and give a set as a gift.  You can also paint them and then label.  Just let your imagination flow.  Great gifts.

I have the wooden clothespins, also, but I don't use them for laundry. Instead, we use them in the kitchen to hold the bags closed, and so on. :-)

I hang my clothes on hangers, then hang them outside. This makes them easier to hang outside, especially when you have toddlers helping you!, and it's faster to bring them inside when it begins to rain. For towels and other non-hanger clothed, I just fold them over the line. I do go out every now and then to adjust them, flip them over or around, to make sure that they do dry.

We do have enough clothes and items so that we don't have to have the clothes dry right away - we always have other things to wear. So if it takes a day or two to dry, no big deal. Just be patient!

We have a wall in the kitchen where DS can hang his schoolwork.  It's basically 3 clothes lines.  We use clothes pins to hang the work.

We also use clothes pins in the laundry.  DH uses them to mark stains or missing buttons when he's removing the clothes, because it's not like I'm going to remember which white shirt had the sauce stain, if I remember any of them did.  And we use them to match gloves.  DS has a glove thing.  He is constantly wearing one.  Just one!  And he leaves them every where, so they are constantly in the wash.  When I find a single glove in the laundry, I clip it to the outside of his outerwear bin.  If there is a match already on the bin, I clip the two together and toss them in the bin.  This way, DS knows he can wear a single for play activities, but when he needs them for weather reasons, he can reach in and always get a pair.

We use them all the time....hanging clothes on the line...clipping bags of chips and other foods shut.  I also found clothes pins at the $$ store. I could have gotten 50 clothes pins or 5 or 6 food clips.....I got the clips another day.
