Interesting story about a young woman who returns to Ireland after living many years in Paris. She left Ireland with her mother as a teenager because her mother left her father. Now both parents are dead and she hopes to live with her grandmother because she has no where else to go.

The book is about human loneliness. It gives the reader a flavor of Irish culture and the complicated relationships between family members.
